Pixie was picked up by ARM when there was a change over of owners at the local race course in Florida. Much of ARM’s victims of the black market horse meat trade are shuffled from some of the shadiest people on the back ends of the racetracks, who take horses in that are no longer wanted due to injuries or bad performances. These horses enter into the heartless hands of backyard horse slaughter operations that are not only illegal, but prevalent in the state of Florida.

Pixie had 24 hours to find a new home so ARM swooped her up and bought her back to the sanctuary. Months later Pixie is progressing and is being retrained to be a riding horse, not a racehorse.

She enjoys her days in lush fields with her friends Bailey and Freedoms Flight.
